Amber Desiree, who goes by "AD," is among the 30 men and women on Season 6 of the hit Netflix dating show "Love Is Blind," which aptly debuted on Valentine's Day.
That of a dating experiment, cast members — who this season are all from the Charlotte, NC, area — will go on dates from either side of a wall, without ever having met or know what the other looks like "to disrupt the swipe-happy world of modern dating and attempt to forge genuine relationships," Netflix says.
AD's bio on the show website says she's turned off by those asking surface-level questions.
“Timing just has not been on my side,” AD said. “I've always been ready, and then I meet people who are either halfway ready, or lie to me.”
AD, whose LinkedIn page says she attended Bridgewater State University, says her ideal guy is empathetic, smart, masculine, and and "overall good person who can handle her tendency to be a bit pushy at times."
While her bio on the show site says she is a former Pats cheerleader, her LinkedIn shows she also cheered for the Charlotte Hornets.
AD is looking for "someone to join her for morning workouts in the gym, where she can be found four times a week.
"Ultimately, respect and friendship are at the center of her ideal marriage, as she’s 'not going to sacrifice [her] integrity' for love.
"'I stand strong in the things that I believe in,' she says. 'I'm a strong, proud Black woman, and these are things that I just will not bend on.'"
The first six episodes of "Love Is Blind" had been released as of press time.
